About the guide

About Chicago Fine Dining

We publish an independent directory of twenty Chicago restaurants, with researched information to help you plan a meal.

What this site is

Chicago Fine Dining is an independently published restaurant directory with dedicated planning guides. The directory includes 19 restaurants recognized in the 2025 MICHELIN Chicago starred selection, plus Kyōten, a sushi counter with no star that took Atelier's place after Atelier closed. It is not a complete list of Chicago restaurants or a claim that these are the city's objectively best places to eat.

Entry numbers identify listings and help readers find them. They are not critic ratings or an official MICHELIN ranking. Chicago Fine Dining is not affiliated with or endorsed by MICHELIN.

Who publishes it

Mundroff Computers LLC publishes Chicago Fine Dining and is responsible for the site's content and editorial decisions. We do not credit an individual restaurant critic on the current guides.

Contact the publisher through the contact page, including for corrections.

What our descriptions mean

We build each guide from the restaurant's own website, its official booking page, such as OpenTable, Tock, Resy or SevenRooms, and MICHELIN's published selection.

Diner impressions summarize public reviews. Each guide links its sources, including the review site, and gives the date we checked them.

We calculate costs for two from those published prices. We state the exclusions alongside each calculation. We do not assign numerical scores or ratings.

Where the data comes from

Sources include restaurants' websites, their official booking pages and MICHELIN's published selections. Star labels in the directory refer to the 2025 selection. A past award doesn't mean a restaurant is still open or still holds it. Check before you plan around it.

The current starred directory differs from the historical selection. Atelier was in the 2025 selection and closed in May 2026, so it is no longer listed. Use the restaurant's own information when planning a visit.

Restaurant planning guides

All 20 directory entries have permanent guides. Each covers menu formats, booking decisions and visitor information. Start with the restaurant directory to compare them.

All restaurant guides use published information and official booking pages. Each links its sources, gives the date checked and separates published prices from our cost calculations and planning advice.

The hours, prices and reservation policies we include match the sources on the date we checked them. Confirm the details for your visit with the restaurant before paying. When a restaurant doesn't publish a detail, the guide tells you what to ask before paying.

Editorial independence

Payment does not buy inclusion, placement or favorable coverage. We will identify any future sponsored placement as advertising. Factual corrections may change a listing regardless of who reports them.

How the site makes money

This site is free to read. We plan to support its running costs with advertising, including Google AdSense. As of October 28, 2026, AdSense has not approved the site. No ads are serving and no review is pending.

Advertising involves cookies and similar technologies. The privacy policy explains what information is collected, who receives it and how to manage your choices.

Corrections

To report an incorrect address, award, closure or other detail, use the contact page and include a supporting source where possible. We check reported corrections before changing a listing.

On , we updated the Topolobampo guide after its Veracruz menu ended, and rewrote guide wording to tell readers what to ask when a restaurant doesn't publish a detail.

On , we removed numerical critic scores and claims of repeated visits because the site did not provide evidence supporting them. We replaced evaluative descriptions with sourced overviews, corrected the MICHELIN edition reference to 2025, and clarified that AdSense approval was pending at that time.
